Origin
Valencia’s friendly climate is characterized by an easy breeze but comfortable temperatures. That makes it a true walhalla for growing grapes. Many different grapes are grown here.
Grapes
Ever heard of a full bodied grape? Well, here you got one. Tempranillo is black Spanish grape that got its name from the Spanish word ‘temprano’ (early). It calls for harvest a few weeks earlier than all other red Spanish grapes. Which is great for flavour but not so great for planning logistics as an urban winery.
What’s so experimental about it?
The Wild Horse was aged according to the roble technique: aging the wine for a short period of time on oak.
The story behind the bottle
When founder Remy and his father Jos, went on a trip to Valencia, they did not only try out the roble wines of this region but the roble hobby’s as well: yes, they went horseback riding. Hence the name ‘The Wild Horse’. And extra fun fact: somewhere during their trip the idea of their own winery was born.
Dinner ideas
Pull out the barbecue! The Wild Horse goes well with anything grilled. Whether it’s meat, vegetables or your mother in law.
