Crowd pleaser. Easy going apple, succulent pear and a splash of zingy citrus.Chardonnay from Martin Bangerth, Pfalz (DE).
Batch of 1333 bottles.
We would name Pfalz as this chardonnay’s origin, but it’s really the backyard of our farmer partner Martin Bangerth. He has been our partner from the beginning. Even though Pfalz is not the most chardonnay-friendly region (because: cold and moist) this chardonnay turned out great with the love and care of Martin.
Even if you don’t know anything about wine, you know chardonnay. This grape is known for its dry taste and buttery if aged on oak.
What’s so experimental about it?
Most chardonnays come either from France (Burgundy to be more specific), South-Africa or California. But when it comes to our ‘Sons’, we’d like to experiment and so we decided to go for a chardonnay grape from the least expected place: Germany.
The story behind the bottle
Co-founder Tom made a trip to Jura Trento, Italy in its first weeks and passed a region with many mountain lakes. And while dreaming away in this mysterious landscape, he came up with the dreamy name of the wine they were working on at that moment.
Fresh salads, oysters, soft cheese, sea banquet.
