On Cloud 9 - KLM Blend

Three grapes, two countries, one bottle. On Cloud Nine brings Pinot Noir and Mourvèdre from Mathilde Broto's vineyards in the Languedoc-Roussillon together with Sangiovese grown by Societa Agricola Maremmalta in Tuscany, part of the blend resting for six months in concrete tanks lined with oak staves, the rest ageing in stainless steel, before the three meet in one wine. The result is a full bodied red from the 2022 vintage, bottled at 12.5% alcohol, layered with cherry, raspberry, plum and strawberry, lifted by a whisper of clove and warm spice. Vibrant, generous and just a little unexpected, exactly the mood its name promises.

Try it with duck breast finished in its own fat, or a board of aged pecorino and fig jam. The wine's dark fruit and warm spice stand up to the richness without ever fighting it.
