TASTING NOTES
This wine displays a soft, light purple hue and offers an enticing blend of aromas. You'll savor delightful notes of blackberries with a touch of spices, licorice, and black olives, along with hints of black currants and a subtle trace of vanilla. The taste is robust, featuring a combination of spices, black fruit, tobacco, and oak.
ABOUT THE GRAPE
Garnacha, better known as Grenache in France, is a versatile grape variety. In the French Rhône Valley, Grenache plays a prominent role in famous blends like Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, and Vacqueyras. In Spain's Priorat, Garnacha is the star of red wines. Priorat wines garner worldwide admiration and are often considered Spain's "Grand Cru." The region even has its own classification system, known as "DOQ Priorat" (Denominación de Origen Qualificada), indicating the highest wine quality. This led us to explore the region, where we encountered Roger Grifoll Declara, who provided us with the finest Garnacha grapes for our Mayor's Choice wine.
