Lucky Lucy (unfiltered) '21

The syrah grape variety originated in the Rhône Valley of France. These grapes make rich and often powerful and somewhat meaty red wines. As opposed to going to the valley, though, we instead get our syrah from Montbrun-des-Corbières in the Languedoc-Roussillon region by the southern coast. Typical wines from here tend to be more easy going, fruity and juicy, than its valley counterparts.

This is a low-intervention wine using spontaneous fermentation on indigenous yeast (naturally present in the grapes) and no filtering of the wine, made by our founding winemaker.

It was barrel fermented (part also on steel) and aged for 9 months in French oak barrels. No additives, only a minimum level of added sulfites.

Our unfiltered Lucky Lucy will add buzz to your dinner party by alternating intense laughs with deep convos. Goes perfectly with foods like beef, mushrooms, portobello, stamppot with gravy, Indonesian food (gado gado), hummus.

Eye: ruby red, deep intensity
Nose: forest fruit, black berries, chocolate, coffee, black pepper
Mouth: black fruit, dried figs, chocolate
Finish: medium tannins
